Sarah Isakson, MA, NCC

Counselor

Sarah has a passion and proven skills in working with couples and families.  She believes that a family works as a dynamic system and when one member experiences change it causes reverberations throughout the system.  Sarah’s background also includes working in residential treatment settings where she counseled at-risk adolescents and their families.  There, Sarah became proficient in a variety of counseling settings including abuse/neglect, issues with body and self image, depression, anxiety, bi-polar, ADHD, self-harm, divorce, adoption, grief and loss.  She enjoys working with families, couples, adults and adolescents.

Sarah believes her clients are the experts in their own lives and their daily actions unfold a script that determines their future path. Sarah views her role as a facilitator who helps guide clients through areas in their life inflicting pain, suffering and/or brokenness.  She combines a warm, authentic, genuine and relational style of counseling, while challenging clients to take responsibility for their own choices and the future they wish to attain.  Sarah works to help clients come to a place of peace and contentment, where they can experience healing and growth.  It is through this journey that Sarah believes individuals can find their ultimate wholeness as a person who was created in God’s image.    

Before coming to Front Range Counseling Center, Sarah served as a counselor at Tennyson Center for Children and Families where she worked with abused and neglected kids and their families.  She also completed her practicum at CU-Denver’s Student Counseling Center.  Sarah is currently the Children’s Ministry Director for her church in Littleton, CO.  

Sarah obtained her BS from Colorado Sate University majoring in Psychology.  She received her MA in Counseling Psychology/Counselor Education from the University of Colorado at Denver with an emphasis in couple and family therapy.  She is a National Certified Counselor.  

Sarah has been happily married for six years and has two small children.  She is a Colorado native who resides with her family in Highlands Ranch, CO.
